Jonathan Sussman is applying for MD/PhD programs which he hopes to begin in the fall of 2020.
“The Grand Challenges Scholars Program has inspired me to connect my studies and interest in engineering research with my aspiration for a career in medicine. As a research assistant in the Graham Laboratory at USC, I combined molecular biology and bioinformatics to understand how cancer cells rewire their metabolism with the implication of identifying potential targets for novel cancer therapeutics. I look forward to pursuing a career as a physician-scientist in order to continue seeking a deeper understanding of cancer while bringing new treatments into the clinic.”
